OVERVIEW

Robert Morris University is dedicated to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefit program designed to attract and retain high quality employees. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits through Robert Morris University. Following is an overview of the employee benefits package to RMU staff. 
  • Medical coverage is offered through Highmark or Aetna. Employees hired before April 1, 2013 are able to choose between a traditional PPO program and a Qualified High Deductible Health Plan. Employees hired on or after April 1, 2013 are eligible for the Qualified High Deductible Health Plan. 
  • Dental coverage is offered through United Concordia. Employees have the choice between three plan design options (Basic, Custom and Enhanced). All options cover preventive care at 100% and include a $25 per member annual deductible ($50 family maximum). Orthodontia coverage is available for dependents to age 19 under the Enhanced option. 
  • Vision coverage is offered through Vision Benefits of America. Employees are eligible for an eye exam every 12 months, lenses every 12 months and frames every 24 months. 
  • A 403(b) retirement plan is offered through Transamerica. RMU provides an employer match based on years of service and date of hire. Employees are matched at least 100% of the first 5% deferred into the plan. Employees are eligible to participate in the 403(b) and receive the employer match the first of the month following date of hire. 
  • RMU provides Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance equal to one times salary to all benefit eligible employees. Employees can purchase additional Life coverage in increments of one to five times salary to a maximum of $400,000. Employees can purchase additional Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage in increments of $10,000 to a maximum of $50,000. 
  • Disability coverage is provided to benefit eligible employees at no cost to employees. 
  • After completion of five months of employment, full-time staff employees, as well as spouses and dependent children to age 26, are eligible for 100% tuition remission at RMU. 
  • Additional benefits include Paid Time Off, Employee Assistance Program, Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account, Voluntary Group Legal, Voluntary Long Term Care and Voluntary Auto/Homeowners.
