Advisor, Online RN to MSN and MSN Programs
The Human Resources Department announces the position of Advisor, Online RN to MSN and MSN Programs, reporting to the Program Director within the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS).


Responsibilities include: participates in recruitment efforts; works with the admissions counselor and refers students to  the appropriate admissions counselor, financial aid or director for follow up as necessary; establishes initial communication and provides ongoing advisement for RN to MSN and MSN students related to progression and retention; assists RN to MSN and MSN program students with registration and resources; answers specific questions concerning curriculum, program requirements, policies, check-sheets, degree information and student problems in collaboration with the Program Director; keeps records for the Program Director and working with other staff to track enrollment and progression of students; uses data related to enrollment and progression to develop plans for proposed semester course offerings; in collaboration with the Program Director, determines semester course scheduling and submits requests for the online RN to MSN and MSN programs to the Program Director  by required deadlines; supports program and accreditation requirements; assists in collecting data relative to the program enrollment, attrition and graduation rates, projected courses and submits reports to the Program Director weekly; determines clinical placement needs; tracks and supports student search of clinical placements and preceptors; initiates agency contracts and affiliation agreements; tracks and maintains required clinical contracts and documentation of clinical credential requirements for placement with preceptors; initiates requests for required student clearances and health forms; follows up with requests and assures compliance; and performs duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • RN License required.
  • Knowledge of academic environments.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  A willingness to develop computer skills, adjust to other updated technology and grow academically as required.
  • Strong professional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; problem solving skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work without supervision; ability to make independent judgments.
  • Good customer relations skills needed to interact closely with staff, faculty and students, deal with multiple constituencies and work with a diverse population.
