Credit Evaluation Specialist (Part-Time)
The Human Resources Department announces the position of Credit Evaluation Specialist. This position is a part-time, 12 month position reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions for Transfer and Online programs responsible for the evaluation of undergraduate college transcripts to determine course equivalency and applicability to RMU courses and degree programs. This position is not eligible for the university’s benefit programs. This position will work no more than 20 hours per week and will not exceed 950 hours per calendar year. Work schedule will include some flexibility Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
 
Responsibilities include: Responsible for review and analysis of external official transcripts sent to admissions from other colleges and universities on behalf of new transfer students seeking admission to RMU in accordance with university policies, procedures and structure; complete official evaluations for online students and accurately and completely enter all applicable course credits into the University student information system; work with online admissions counselors to provide clear information regarding transfer of courses for prospective students; communicate information regarding final course evaluations to students and to admissions counseling team; work closely with deans, department heads and faculty to ensure that all course equivalency information is up to date; and performs any and all relevant duties of the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Prior experience working with transfer students, reviewing college credits and coursework preferred.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a discreet and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with accuracy of data required.
  • Proficiency and experience with Microsoft office and/or similar programs; ability to adjust to technological changes.
  • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills; detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and make independent judgments.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, especially during peak enrollment periods
  • Ability to perform a high volume of data entry.
