Director, RISE Center
The Human Resources Department announces the
position of Director, RISE Center, reporting to the Dean, School of Nursing and
Health Sciences (SNHS).
include: ensure high quality simulation based educational activities; teach 6
SNHS courses per year; serve as coordinator for the Simulation Certificate
Program; develop strategies to enhance programs and services, utilizing
available resources and acquiring additional tools to create a realistic
learning environment; ensure continuous quality improvement initiatives;
identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, implementation and
integration of patient simulation technology into existing nursing and
healthcare curricula; serve as simulation mentor and educator, promoting
collaboration and team teaching; maintain professional growth and development
through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep informed of
latest trends in field of expertise; publish and present simulation activities
at national and international conferences; ensure Center accreditation
standards are maintained; determine Center Strategic and Operational Plan is
current and responsive to internal and external environment; develop and
implement policies, procedures and practice standards consistent with Center
mission and goals; perform evaluation of program; assess areas for growth and
improvement; in collaboration with Dean, prepare annual budget, monitor
revenue/expenditures and manage funding sources ensuring contracts are
maintained and revenue sources maximized; identify and submit grant proposals
for additional funding to support mission and vision; oversee RISE Center
faculty and staff; in collaboration with faculty, foster and supervise Center
research activities; promote the interests of the Simulation Center through
participation in public relations events and tours; collaborate with regional,
national and international users to advance the use of simulation in healthcare
education; plan for program expansion through design of space to support goals
of the Center; and performs any and all relevant duties of the position.
Graduate degree in nursing; Doctoral degree required.
Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
Research and teaching experience to warrant appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank.
Four years of experience in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and customizing clinical, educational or simulation programs.
Four to five years professional experience as a practitioner in a clinical environment, with significant exposure to direct patient care.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software application relevant to simulator functions.
Demonstrated leadership abilities; Ability to professionally represent SNHS and RMU to internal and external constituencies.
Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of organizational personnel, staff/faculty and students.
Ability to effectively lead and empower teams.
Ability to work well under pressure, set priorities and make critical decisions.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding job assignments and sensitive issues.
