Faculty - School of Communications and Information Systems

For 2014-15, RMU seeks faculty candidates who will exemplify the teacher-scholar model in the following academic disciplines.

Assistant Professor - Communication.  Two faculty positions to primarily teach in one or more specializations in the undergraduate degree program, including communications studies, media, journalism and related areas. The successful candidate will teach a broad range of communication courses both on ground and online, advise students, develop and assess curriculum, carry out a research agenda in an area of expertise in the field and participate in service. A Ph.D. in the discipline or related area is required. Previous university teaching and industry experience are preferred.

Assistant Professor - Media Arts (TV/Video Production). Faculty position to teach all levels of TV/Video production courses in Media Arts. Successful candidates will have diverse production skills, expertise in multiple genres, and experience in networking with industry partners. M.F.A. or Ph.D. in a related field, a strong commitment to teaching, and a documented record of the development, creation, and distribution of media required. Knowledge of contemporary creative and digital editing software preferred. Three years or more university teaching experience and professional experience desirable.

Assistant/Associate Professor - Computer and Information Systems. Faculty position to teach cyber forensics and security, enterprise systems, software quality assurance, information technology project management, or competitive intelligence systems (business intelligence/analytics). The successful candidate will teach on-ground and online, advise students, develop and assess curriculum, carry out a research agenda and participate in service. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in MIS, CIS or Information Systems.  Previous university teaching and practical experience in computer information systems preferred.
