Operations Center Technician II
The Human Resources Department announces the
position of Operations Center Technician II reporting to the Manager, Office
Operations, in the Facilities Management Department.
include: monitor and administration
of building air quality/temperatures HVAC (building automation), fire
safety/alarm systems, card and key access control; utilize building DDC to
monitor/maintain building conditions, respond to alarms on computerized
building systems; dispatch or communicate alarm information to initiate proper
response; assist HVAC mechanics when requesting DDC monitoring information; make
adjustments to system operations and/or work closely with personnel to address
issues; process door closure requests and maintain card access closure
schedules; maintain key cut software assignments; interface with personnel or
vendors to address systems issues; primary contact point to receive requests
and distribute maintenance supplies for work orders; ensure maintenance supply
is assigned to appropriate work order number; purchase maintenance supplies
used by facilities maintenance staff - current stock for inventory store or
supplies used for projects performed; maintain and update inventory store to keep
stock items to par levels, which includes counting items for verification of
stock on hand with the micromain system stock on hand and reconciliations; prepare
and generate routine written reports; ensure information, including labor
hours, materials, description of work performed, is accurate for entry in the
work order system for orders requested to be closed; communicate with and
assist outside service companies; prepare service outage announcements and
distribute; provide clerical duties for Operations Center related activities; compile,
copy and distribute maintenance and construction announcements; provide
emergency response activities in accordance with policies; monitor and maintain
Operations Center written policies/procedures; distribute and maintain log of keys/access
cards issued to outside vendors; input Signage Request for Venus 1500 software; and perform any and all relevant duties of the
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree/Technical School preferred.
Building Automation Direct Digital Control software experience required; work experience in facilities building operations/building automation required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages, specifically Excel and Word; willingness to develop additional computer skills; excellent data entry and graphing skills required.
Work Order Management (Micromain) software preferred.
Building key and card access software experience preferred.
Experience as a dispatcher with excellent customer service and/or exposure to engineering/maintenance functions is preferred.
Must be able to: work under pressure, prioritize multiple job requirements, demonstrate ability to act independently and use sound judgment, and respond to emergency situations calmly and quickly.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy of work; and the physical dexterity and visual acuity to operate a personal computer.
24/7 coverage/support to calls - The Operations Center may operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Operations Center Technicians are required to work any shift as needed.
Responsible for attending or completing required safety and similar training to maintain current knowledge with procedures.
