Regional Admissions Counselor 
NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA OR NEW JERSEY.
The Human Resources Department announces the position of Regional Admissions Counselor reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions.
 

Responsibilities include:  effectively managing the recruitment of prospective freshmen from within a designated regional recruitment territory; perform high school visits and attend local, regional and national college fairs within the designated regional recruitment territory; review admissions applications and make admissions decisions/recommendations; counsel prospective students on the admissions and financial aid processes and opportunities; join and participate in regional admission and school counselor associations to build strong working relationships with members; organize, plan and host regional recruiting events in key areas within the targeted geographic location; work in cooperation with alumni located within the designated territory to gain  support in reaching out with and talking to prospective students; responsible for the use of the Enrollment Management Action System (EMAS), the Patriot System    and PowerFaids to correspond with prospective students; responsible for completing phone calls, face-to-face visits, and written correspondence; responsible for being knowledgeable and explaining the various admissions practices, procedures, and policies of the University to prospective students, parents and guidance counselors; make formal presentations; provides a follow-up with students and parents via phone, letters, email and scheduled appointments in specific recruitment territory; conducts periodic travel to the RMU campus in Moon Township to attend campus events, meetings, training and activities as required; adheres to University policies and procedures regarding travel and procurement; advises supervisory personnel of the progress of ongoing responsibilities by maintaining accurate records of contacts and preparing reports concerning recruitment and admission activities; performs any and all relevant duties of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; experience in admissions or enrollment management preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Incumbent is often the first point of contact with the public and prospective students and requires extensive knowledge of university stakeholders, programs and policies.
  • Knowledge of and experience traveling within the designated geographic territory preferred.
  • Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours, including weekends; ability to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication; ability to represent the office and University in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity; demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Ability to work with limited supervision and exercise self-direction under prescribed guidelines.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude; strong commitment to higher education, customer service and student focus.
  • Ability to travel to the RMU campus in Moon Township, PA periodically throughout the year is required.
  • A staff member is expected to abide by all of the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA and the NEC. Staff members found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures
