Senior Consultant, Organizational Development and Strategy
The Human Resources Department announces the position of Senior Consultant, Organizational Development and Strategy, reporting to the Executive Director, Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management (BCNM). This position is located in Pittsburgh.

 

Responsibilities include: Client consulting Services - market and execute consulting contracts with nonprofit organizations in all areas of organizational excellence, including organizational assessment, strategic and operational planning, business planning and coaching as a technique for professional development; understand and consistently maintain confidentiality of all client materials; maintain a corps of consultants to support contract work when necessary; work in partnership with other BCNM consultants and contractors to consistently assure the highest quality consulting engagements; fully achieve consulting program financial goals. Marketing the Bayer Center - take advantage of opportunities to market the Center through presentations and speaking engagements as appropriate; actively participate in committees focused on key nonprofit issues, such as Social Enterprise, Board Development, Innovative Financing; assist in building the Center’s overall consulting business through cross selling and referrals. Education Programs - participate in development of BCNM educational programs, based on knowledge gained from consulting engagements; assist in securing speakers, act as panel moderator and  teach, when appropriate, to the topic under discussion; assist in marketing efforts with clients and nonprofit network of full spectrum of BCNM services and programs; assist in fiscal planning and administration of the Center’s business plan; advise on the development of the Center’s annual operating budget. Administration - participate in all planning as a member of the Center’s management team; work cooperatively on database management and Center operations; and perform related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience in progressively responsible positions.
  • Experience as a facilitator, convener and consultant required.
  • Energy, focus, and hustle required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Current knowledge of consulting best practices.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit legal and fiscal requirements.
  • Experience in program development, financial accountability and organizational development.
  • Experience in convening and organizing community activities.
  • Demonstrated community volunteer involvement.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as required.
