Off-Boarding at RMU

This effective and consistent off-boarding process helps to ensure a seamless transition for both the employee and the university.

The resources found on this page provide employees and managers with important steps to take and things to know regarding ending employment with the university.

Leaving RMU

For staff employees, if you are ending your employment with the university, a voluntary resignation begins by submitting a letter or email of resignation indicating a last day of employment to your manager who forwards that to Human Resources.

For voluntary resignations, the following checklists should be used by an employee and manager as a guide to confirm all appropriate steps are taken before an employee’s last day. For specific questions regarding resignations and involuntary terminations, please contact Human Resources,

Exit Interview

Exit interviews provide employees a forum to share feedback on the current work environment and culture at the university, as well as the opportunity to return any university property and inquire about final pay as well as benefits.

Staff and faculty leaving Robert Morris University are asked to complete an online exit survey prior to their departure. Exiting employees will receive instructions from Human Resources on how to complete the survey, also found here.  In turn, Human Resources can learn a great deal about what is working well and what areas can be improved.
