Robert Morris University encourages promotion from within whenever qualified employees are available and interested. An internal applicant is a current full-time or regular part-time employee (benefits eligible) who has five months in their current position. Internal applicants are required to notify their immediate supervisor of their expressed interest in a position.
Positions are open for a period of 5 business days to internal candidates. Positions will remain open to outside candidates until filled or withdrawn.

The most qualified candidates are contacted for interviews. Resumes are kept on file for eighteen months for candidates who are not contacted for interviews.
